CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Harper's, a longtime restaurant that's served south Charlotte for over 30 years, announced it will be closing its SouthPark location in July.
The restaurant announced its last day will be Saturday, July 20. In a statement, Harper's says it was forced to close because the owner of the property is going in another direction.
"We wish we could say this is our decision, but it's not," Harper's said in a statement on Facebook. "Though we had hoped and wanted to stay for at least another few years, the property owners have something else they would like to put on our plot of land, leaving us without a choice. We hope this is not the end of the road for Harper's in Charlotte, but we don't know just yet."
Harper's has a location in Greensboro. The restaurant's parent company has several other restaurants in Charlotte, including Mimosa Grill, Taco Molino, Horace's Hot Chicken and One Catering.
