CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A shooting in east Charlotte left a man dead on Sunday.
The shooting happened around 11 a.m. on Faires Road just north of Plaza Road Extension, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Joemanie Sweeney, 24, was found in the area with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police labeled the Sweeney's death a homicide. Jarrette Page, 50, was arrested on Sunday shortly after the shooting. Page is charged with first-degree murder.
The investigation is ongoing and police said more information will be released when it becomes available.
