CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The suspect in a deadly shooting that killed 23-year-old Kevin Menos has been arrested in Houston, Texas, authorities confirm.
Menos was shot and killed at an apartment complex in the 6100 block of Winged Elm Court on the morning of May 26.
Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to an "assault with a deadly weapon" call for service around 5 a.m. There, they found Menos, who had been shot.
Menos was confirmed dead at the scene.
Menos and the suspect, now identified as Jose Ulloa-Martinez, were involved in a fight at Winged Elm Court, during which, Menos was shot, according to a CMPD police report. Ulloa-Martinez left the scene after the shooting
Ulloa-Martinez was arrested in Houston on Monday, June 3. He is currently awaiting extradition back to Mecklenburg County.
