CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carowinds announced Tuesday it will be hosting a week-long hiring fair in February as the park seeks to fill hundreds of seasonal job openings in 2024.
The hiring fair runs from Feb. 17-24 in preparation for the 2024 operating season, which begins on March 9. Carowinds said it hopes to fill more than 300 of the approximate 2,500 available seasonal positions during the event. Carowinds' parent company, Cedar Fair, announced plans to hire more than 35,000 seasonal associates in 2024.
Available positions include lifeguards, food and beverage associates, park services, ride operations, park safety and maintenance. Hourly pay ranges from $14 an hour, depending on experience, previous service and position. Job applicants must be at least 16 years old to participate in this hiring fair.
Corey Guy with Human Resources at Carowinds said they are encouraging teenagers to apply. He said he got involved at a young age and wants others to get started within the job market.
“I started when I was young, I made a lot of friends, I learned a lot, and we can pass that to our young kids," Guy said.
"We take pride in offering highly competitive wages, amazing perks, and a seasonal job at one of our parks that can provide more than other workplaces," Manny Gonzalez, Carowinds' vice president and general manager, said.
