Kannapolis man dies after double shooting

Police are seeking information after two men in their 20s were shot in Kannapolis.

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — The Kannapolis Police Department said one man died in a double shooting on S. Cannon Boulevard early on Sunday morning. 

Officers responded to the location, where a business called S&M E-Juice is located, around 2 a.m.

There, they found 23-year-old Shovontae Shikim Byers and 28-year-old Quentin Parhams suffering from gunshot wounds. 

Both men were transported to Atrium-Cabarrus, where Byers succumbed to his injuries.

Parhams, who is from Concord, has non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police say no arrests have been made at this point.
