Their location on North Graham Street is known to be a resource to the community. Their goal on Sunday was to provide comfort.

I just want everybody to come in feel comfortable," Phillips said.

Block Love offered water and fans to help the community stay cool.

“Let's give everybody something to do you know, other than if they just want to just sit around and relax," Phillips said. "We don't mind at all. Today is a day of relaxation a day of rest. So why not do it here where you can be cool until you go to your next destination.”

Spraygrounds and pools were also open to the public on Sunday.
