ALBEMARLE, N.C. — Law enforcement officers arrested a kid who allegedly had a gun on campus at Albemarle High School in Stanly County on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
An Albemarle police officer, who was serving as a school resource officer at the time, received a report that someone with a firearm was on campus.
The officer 'immediately' started an investigation after getting the tip, according to a spokesperson for the police department.
The young person was arrested for "possession of a firearm on school grounds," and the case remains under investigation.
The Albemarle Police Department said there is no additional information available at this time.
