CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Multiple lanes of the inner loop of Interstate 485 were shut down for hours after a crash near Matthews on Thursday morning.
The crash happened on the inner loop near exit 52 for East John Street around 7 a.m. The road was expected to be closed until around 2:30 p.m. for maintenance, according to DriveNC. However, the crash was cleared around 10:30 a.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Medic said several people were treated at the scene but no one was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
