BOONE, N.C. — A man died in a single-car crash in Watauga County on Wednesday night, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The man was identified as 35-year-old William Jesse Glenn of Sugar Grove, North Carolina.
Glenn was driving south on Reese Road, drove off the right side of the road and overturned, highway patrol officials said.
The fatal crash happened on Reese Road near Wilburn Rominger Road.
Glenn was ejected from his truck and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
"The initial investigation indicates speed and alcohol were not contributing circumstances in the collision," officials said in a statement.
Reese Road was closed in the area for about two hours while the on-scene investigation took place.
