Man found dead in car after being shot in south Charlotte

Police found the man on the 12800 block of James Blakeney Avenue.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A homicide investigation is underway after police found a man dead from gunshot wounds in a car in south Charlotte on Friday night, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The man was found in a car on the 12800 block of James Blakeney Avenue, which is in a neighborhood east of Ballantyne. He was dead when police arrived. 

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing, police officials said. Charlotte police said they will release more information when it becomes available.
