CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reports a man was killed after being run over by an unoccupied tractor trailer.
It happened in the 18000 block of Bessbrook Road, CMPD said Tuesday afternoon. That's in the Steele Creek area, near the South Carolina border.
CMPD said the victim, Lynn Patterson, had just finished loading a skid steer onto a trailer when the attached tractor began rolling backward down the medium grade incline upon which it was parked.
Patterson was struck by the tractor. Impairment is not suspected as a factor for Patterson, police report.
