Man killed in west Charlotte house fire, neighbors say

Neighbors said the man killed was the only person inside the house at the time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was killed in a house fire in west Charlotte Friday morning, firefighters said. 

Charlotte Fire was dispatched to a fire in the 7100 block of David Avenue just of Little Rock Road around 7:30 a.m. When firefighters got to the home, they saw heavy fire coming from the house and called for backup. A neighbor sent WCNC a video of the fire as firefighters arrived on the scene.

In a tweet, Charlotte Fire said a team of 28 firefighters got the fire put out in 35 minutes. The victim, who neighbors say was the only person who lived in the house, has not been identified. 

Charlotte Fire has not yet determined the cause of the fire.
