CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a shooting that left one person seriously injured in northwest Charlotte last month.
Amir Amaru Moore, 22, faces charges of attempted murder, felony conspiracy, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) said Monday.
Moore is wanted in connection to a Nov. 7 shooting on North Hoskins Road near Brookshire Boulevard. A man suffered life-threatening injuries in the shooting, according to Medic.
Moore is described as 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds.
In 2020, Moore was convicted of common law robbery in Mecklenburg County. He received a suspended sentence and was put on probation. Moore has a pending cruelty to animals charge in Mecklenburg County from 2021, according to court records.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
The investigation remains ongoing by CMPD.
Note: WCNC instituted a policy in March 2021 regarding the broadcast or posting of mugshots.
WCNC will only air or post a mugshot if the person has been formally charged with a crime and in a few other cases. The exceptions include: If it appears the person could be a danger to themselves or others or if they are wanted by authorities; to differentiate between people with a common name; if the photos could encourage more victims to come forward. The news-editorial leadership may also decide to use a mugshot based on the severity of the crime(s) committed and/or the level of public interest in the crime and ensuing criminal proceedings.
WCNC Charlotte has chosen to use this mugshot because this suspect is wanted by police.
