CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A smile can truly speak volumes, especially when that child is suffering from cancer. These are the priceless moments.

We have kids tell us that's the most fun they've had in their entire life, says NASCAR driver Martin Truex Jr.

This night is all about them, they walk on the runway and have a coming out moment, says Sherry Pollex. You'd be really hard pressed not to smile or shed a tear. It's pretty amazing.

Cup driver Martin Truex Jr. along with his girlfriend Sherry Pollex have made it their goal to make sure those smiles continue with their 5th annual Catwalk for a Cause event to raise money for pediatric cancer research and families being treated at the Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte.

Just a huge thing it's become, says Truex Jr. It's become one of the huge events in the area, and it's something that's really unique and everyone wants to come to.

The outside support for events like this one is really what makes it all possible, from both fellow drivers and others alike.

It's just an honor to do it, and we appreciate everyone so much for their support and generosity, said Truex Jr.

For Truex Jr. and Pollex, those smiles make it all worthwhile.

Making an impact in our community across our community and the U.S. is amazing and we're blessed to be able to do it, says Pollex.

It's a really big deal to raise that much but we don't want to stop here, says Truex Jr. We want to get bigger, we want to keep growing.

The Truex Jr. Foundation has raised over a million dollars so far.
