MATTHEWS, N.C. — Approximately 25 firefighters from multiple departments from Union and Mecklenburg Counties responded to a large brush fire in Matthews, Medic confirmed.
The brush fire occurred at East John Street and Morningwood Drive.
In addition to the firefighters at the scene, a Medic crew supported rehab operations. A Medic mass casualty and evacuation transport bus was on the scene as well.
Officials were notified of the fire at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. All units cleared the scene in under four hours.
There were no injuries reported, as well as no reports of heat exhaustion. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
