One arrest made after teen shot in head outside Rock Hill McDonald's

The shooting happened at the McDonald's on Cherry Road. Police are searching for the suspect.

ROCK HILL, S.C. — One arrest has been made after a teenager was shot in the head outside a McDonald's restaurant in Rock Hill, according to police.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, the 18-year-old was shot outside the restaurant, which is located on South Cherry Road across from Winthrop University. The teenager is on life-sustaining medical care, according to police. Initial information released Sunday had originally indicated the victim had died. In an update, police said medical officials are awaiting further observations before pronouncing him dead.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was speaking to people in a gray, midsize SUV parked outside the McDonald's and was shot by someone inside the SUV, according to police. The suspects left the area after the shooting.

On Monday, police said they had charged Jameson Larone Dunham, 20, of Chester, South Carolina, with accessory after the fact. He was arrested in Chester County and transported back to Rock Hill. He did not receive a bond in York County.

Police are looking for Dunham's brother, Jerrique Dunham, who is suspected to be the shooter.
