Mi Pueblo Mexican Grill

7003 University City Blvd., University City

Mi Pueblo Mexican Grill has opened its second restaurant in Charlotte.

The restaurant group's menu features vegetarian dishes, fajitas, chimichangas and house specials like the Mar Y Tierra, which serves up to four people and includes grilled chicken, steak, shrimp on skewers, bacon-wrapped shrimp and tilapia. The current dinner menu can be viewed here.

Mi Pueblo Mexican Grill's current Yelp rating of 3.5 stars out of nine reviews indicates the newcomer is finding its way, but it's still early days.

Yelper Meleah S., who reviewed the eatery on Oct. 18, wrote, "We attended the grand opening event and were pretty pleased. The menu had a ton of options and there were some great bar offerings, as well."

And Joshua K. wrote, "We visited the newest Mi Pueblo location tonight for their soft opening (dinner hours only) and while it certainly had some hiccups it was still a nice evening with a decent meal."

Mi Pueblo Mexican Grill is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Sabor Latin Street Grill

1616 Camden Road, South End

The Charlotte-based Sabor Latin Street Grill has debuted its newest outpost in South End, with menu items from Mexico, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Colombia.

Stop by for daily specials and street food options like the arepa, empanada and carne asada fries. In the mood for something healthy? Try the quinoa avocado bowl with grilled vegetables and cilantro lime yogurt sauce.

The new Sabor Latin Street Grill is off to a promising start with a current Yelp rating of 4.5 stars out of three reviews.

Yelper Heather K. wrote, "So excited to have Sabor Latin Street Grill join South End and it's obvious that other people feel the same! ... They still have an area for self-serve wine as well as a variety of cocktails (including margaritas)! A small salsa bar is in the back that you can place in a to-go ramekin."

Superica

Newcomer Superica has brought its Tex-Mex fare to Charlotte. Located in a 7,000-square-foot space with a patio, Superica comes courtesy of celebrated Atlanta chef Ford Fry, who owns a dozen restaurants in his home city. Two of those are Supericas; the restaurant also has a third location in Houston.

House specials include slow-braised and chargrilled short ribs slathered in chipotle molasses, and marinated wood-grilled skirt steak, served with two enchiladas and a fried egg.

Superica offers brunch from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays. The brunch menu can be viewed here.

With four stars out of 215 reviews on Yelp, the eatery appears to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Yelper Jessica R. wrote, "Have been wanting to try this place to see what all the hype was about. Overall a very pleasant experience. Didn't have to wait at all on a Sunday evening, the staff was pretty attentive and the food was good."

Superica is open from 11 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 5–10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 5–11 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m.–11 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday.
