Police searching for 22-year-old woman last seen near Uptown

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is seeking help in locating a missing 22-year-old woman on Thursday.

Ta-Haley Payton was last seen in the 700 block of Charlottetowne Avenue on Wednesday. Family members are concerned for Payton’s well-being and are seeking information on her whereabouts.

Payton is described as a Black female, 22 years old, with a height of 5 feet 6 inches and weighing approximately 140 pounds. She has black hair worn in thick twists and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown fuzzy full zip jacket, a light blue t-shirt, light gray sweatpants with red writing on the left leg, white socks, and slippers.

Police did not say if she was last seen leaving with anyone or where she may have traveled to.

Anyone with information on Ms. Payton’s whereabouts is urged to call 9-1-1 immediately.
