Stanly County deputies locate missing elderly man

The sheriff's office said he was known to frequent the Walmart in Albemarle.

STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — The Stanly County Sheriff's Office said on Jan. 20 that a missing elderly man had been located.

The man, believed to live with a cognitive impairment, had gone missing before and turned up in Mecklenburg County. The sheriff's office noted he's known to frequent the Walmart on Leonard Avenue in Albemarle as well.

The initial missing person's report was made on Jan. 19. In the early hours of Jan. 20, the sheriff's office noted he was located.
