ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police in Rock Hill released surveillance photos of a pickup truck they believe is connected with the disappearance of a woman who hasn't been seen in a week.
Katie Sue Hurst was last heard from around 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13. Detectives shared surveillance photos of a blue Ford F-150 pickup truck that may be connected to her disappearance.
Lieutenant Michael Chavis shares with WCNC the connection in Hurst's disappearance. He said, “after a hair appointment, she drove up the Rock Hill from Chester, she went to the place of work over on white Street. As she pulls in, we've now got video footage of this blue pickup truck pulling in as well. Was there a very brief time and then it pulls out, we know that she never went inside, she never went to work that day. But finding this video footage is helping us find a another place just to keep our investigation going.”
Hurst works at MLB Law as a receptionist. Zach Merritt with the law firm said his staff were some of the first to notice the disappearance. He added, she had not come to the office. At that point. We had reached out to Rock Hill, we reached out to Piedmont, we reached out to her family. And we didn't want her family her fiancé contacted us with the same concern is when we reached out more formally to law enforcement."
The truck, a 2011-13 Ford F-150 Lariat, pulled into the parking lot at Hurst's job shortly after she arrived. Detectives said it's believed that Hurst got into the truck, which then pulled away. The truck was last seen in the area of East White Street in Rock Hill.
Detectives say they're looking for a Ford F-150 Lariat crew cab that's blue jean metallic color with the chrome package. Katie Sue Hurst is a white female who stands 5-foot-10 and weighs around 230 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a burgundy tank top, jeans and brown boots.
Merritt said Hurst is engaged and a mother of two. Their staff remains optimistic she can return to her family safely. He said, “it's a tragedy right now. But right now, we still have the hope of something. You know, showing her whereabouts and knowing that she's alive and safe.”
Anyone with information about her whereabouts or this pickup truck is asked to call Rock Hill police at 803-329-7211 immediately.
