STANLEY, N.C. — The Gaston County Police Department said a woman who was reported missing nearly a week ago was found alive and is now being treated at a nearby hospital.
Kelly Krueger, 38, was last seen along Linberger Road on July 13, according to police. Her family told WCNC Charlotte she was found near a river Saturday morning with a set of injuries, but was taken away to be treated.
Gaston County Police thanked the public for the assistance provided during the search, saying community members' vigilance played a key role in finding Kreuger.
While she has been found safe, police said the investigation remains active. No further information is set to be released as of publication.
However, Gaston County Police is still asking for information that could help in the investigation. Anyone who may know something is asked to call Det. Waldrop at (704) 866-3320. Tips can also be called in to Crimestoppers at (704) 861-8000.
