MONROE, N.C. — The Monroe Police Department said it arrested a local man for allegedly sexually assaulting a child at Union Soccer Academy on 2620 Nelda Drive.
The police department said it launched an investigation on Monday, Oct. 23.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of Jorge Palma of Monroe on Oct. 25 for multiple charges.
Palma was charged with two counts of "indecent liberties with a child, obstruction of justice and alter or destroying evidence of criminal conduct."
Palma is currently in custody at the Union County Jail under a $100,000 bond, according to Monroe police.
