HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — One person was found dead after going missing in Mountain Island Lake, authorities said on Tuesday.
The search for the missing person began around 5 p.m. near Buzzard Rock on Mountain Island Lake, according to the Huntersville Fire Department.
Several agencies responded to search for the person. Around 9 p.m., the Huntersville Fire Department stated that the missing person was found dead.
The victim was later identified as 45-year-old Williams Medina. His cause of death is listed as "alleged drowning." It's not known what led to the person going missing in the lake.
