Multi-alarm fire destroys two-story home

Multiple fire crews battled alongside an evening rainstorm to contain a multi-alarm fire that charred and destroyed a home in Harrisburg, North Carolina Wednesday night.

HARRISBURG, N.C. (WCNC) - Multiple fire crews battled alongside an evening rainstorm to contain a multi-alarm fire that charred and destroyed a home in Harrisburg, North Carolina Wednesday night.

The residence was home to a family of four, including two adolescent girls, plus the family's pet dog. All five were able to evacuate without injury.

The house sat at the corner of Piper Ct and Baystone Place in Harrisburg, N.C.

One woman is being praised for alerting the family of four residing inside at the time of the fire. According to her, she saw flames coming from the garage, and that's when she ran in the house to get everyone out.

Harrisburg Fire Department is still investigating the cause of the fire.
