Charlotte church delivers Thanksgiving meals to those in need

New Outreach Christian Center prepared and delivered meals to 200 senior citizens, a juvenile drug rehab facility, and an adult rehab facility.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For many, Thanksgiving is seen as a day of giving back to others. A Charlotte church went out Thursday with the mission to not only give out food, but hope.

New Outreach Christian Center prepared and delivered meals to 200 senior citizens, a juvenile drug rehab facility, and an adult rehab facility.

The two ministers leading the charge said caring is in their DNA. Brother and sister Sharkeeta and Gerald Stevenson are continuing the legacy of their mother, Pastor Brenda Stevenson, who died in 2021.

The Stevensons said they are thankful that God blessed them with the chance to be a blessing to others.

New Outreach, along with volunteers, also passed out boxed foods earlier this week, so families could have something to cook for Thanksgiving. New Outreach plans to continue giving back to the community this Christmas.
