CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- North Meck High School was briefly placed on lockdown after a report of gunfire near the campus Thursday morning.
According to CMS, North Meck was placed on a precautionary lockdown at 6:45 a.m. after a report of gunfire in a wooded area near the school.
The lockdown was lifted around 7:30 a.m. after everything was cleared by authorities.
Authorities had a K-9 unit come do a search - to see if anyone or anything in the wooded area. CMPD and Huntersville police have not found anything related to gunfire near the school.
