3 people displaced, cat rescued from fire at Charlotte apartment complex

It happened on Southwest Boulevard, not far from West Charlotte High School.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three adults were displaced and a cat was rescued from an apartment fire in Charlotte Friday morning. It took 30 firefighters 33 minutes to control the fire.

The fire happened on Southwest Boulevard in the area of Birch Townhomes, not far from West Charlotte High School.

The three adults that were displaced are being assisted by the Red Cross; no injuries were reported. Charlotte Fire officials said there were four cats in the apartment at the time of the fire, and while crews had to rescue one of the cats, all four cats survived.
