HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A Mallard Creek High School student is dead and three others are suffering from life-threatening injuries after a crash in Huntersville on Friday night, Medic says.
The crash happened at Hambright Road and Everett Keith Road around 9:30 p.m. on Friday.
Medic pronounced one person dead at the scene and three others were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
On Saturday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools confirmed the student who died was Caleb Kibula. The three other people hurt in the crash were also Mallard Creek students, identified as Lawson Collins, Josiah Wiggins, and Emani Blanco.
The cause of the crash isn't known at this time.
