Medic said the accident happened near Little Rock Road and David Avenue.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person has died and three others were injured in an accident Friday evening in northwest Charlotte.

According to police, a two-vehicle accident happened near Little Rock Road and David Avenue just before 8 p.m. Officers arrived to the scene and found a 2001 Honda Accord and a 2018 Ford Fiesta involved in the crash.

The 2018 Ford Fiesta was traveling north on Little Rock Road, and the two vehicles collided.

The driver and sole occupant of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver’s name will be released after family notification has been made.

There were two children riding in the backseat of the Ford, they were both transported by MEDIC to Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center - Main where they were treated for minor injuries. The driver of the Ford also sustained minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.

Detectives with the Major Crash Investigation Unit, Officers from the DWI Task Force, and Crime Scene Search responded to conduct the investigation.

Little Rock Road was shut down in both directions for hours while officials were investigating the accident.

Police said there were no witnesses to the crash and impairment was not suspected for either driver.
