Annual 'Angel Bowl' benefits Belmont charity

Holy Angels provides special care to children and adults with developmental disabilities and delicate medical conditions.

BELMONT, N.C. — For almost 60 years, Holy Angels in Belmont has provided special services and living opportunities for children and adults with developmental disabilities and delicate medical conditions.

Today was Angel Bowl day and a very special bowling alley was created just for the residents.  

From four years old to 82 years old, they were all given a chance to bowl with a team of volunteers to assist in the good times.

WCNC Charlotte's Larry Sprinkle was there to kick things off and make sure that everyone had a chance to participate with lots strikes and smiles.

Donnie Thurman, the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Holy Angels, joined in the fun on Saturday. 

This was the 32nd year for the Angel Bowl.
