UNION COUNTY, N.C. - Heavy rain is moving out of the Charlotte region Wednesday morning but not after causing some minor flooding.
Tuesday night's heavy rain caused flooding in Union County on Billy Howey Road. Three vehicles were swept off the road due to the flooding.
Union County officials closed Bill Howey Road overnight to let the water recede from the street. They reopened the road around 6 a.m.
No one was injured in the incident, officials said.
Today will be warm and muggy with a chance of showers and storms this afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 80s. Chance of rain is at 50 percent.
