Train hits person in northwest Charlotte

The incident happened near the intersection of Rozzelles Ferry Road and Honeywood Avenue.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A person was seriously injured after they were hit by a train in northwest Charlotte.

The crash happened at train tracks near the intersection of Rozzelles Ferry Road and Honeywood Avenue around 1:21 p.m. on Wednesday. One person was struck by a CSX train and suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, according to Medic.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the scene but has not released any details. 

CSX officials said no other injuries were reported. 

No further information has been released.

An investigation is underway into the crash.
