Homicide investigation underway in southwest Charlotte

Police found the victim dead from a gunshot wound on Revolution Park Drive, early Saturday morning.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person is dead after a shooting in southwest Charlotte on Saturday morning, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police found a victim dead from a gunshot wound in the 4100 block of Revolution Park Drive.

Officers had received the call for an assault with a deadly weapon around 12 a.m. on Saturday. 

The investigation into this case is ongoing. The police department said it will release more information as it develops.

This shooting comes after a Friday evening death investigation along South Boulevard, not far from the intersection with Scaleybark Road.

Additionally, two people were sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries from separate shootings in southwest Charlotte on Friday evening. Those shootings occurred on High Meadows Lane and Kings Branch Court, near the Lexington Green apartment community off Archdale Drive.
