CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in southwest Charlotte on Sunday afternoon, court records show.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a reported shooting at an apartment building on Caronia Street, which is just off Clanton Road, around 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 11. Multiple police cars and other first responders were called to assist.
A police report says the victim was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds inside a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic. The victim has since been identified as 37-year-old Aaron Remont Thompson.
Another victim showed up at a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
CMPD said the case was being identified as a homicide. Court records show that Marcus Watson was arrested in connection with the shooting. He was charged with first-degree murder and had his first appearance in court on Monday.
On Thursday, Aug. 15, CMPD announced a a second arrest had been made in the case. 20-year-old Devone Jamar Walker was arrested late Wednesday morning in Harrisburg and charged with felony accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
