YORK, S.C. — One person was killed in a motorcycle crash in York County on Saturday, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 2 p.m. on Owens Road near Flat Rock Road, about three miles north of York.
Officials say a 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was heading south when the driver lost control and veered off the right side of the road.
The bike hit a utility pole and then crashed into a fence.
The driver, who was the only person on the motorcycle, was taken to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
The coroner's office is working to notify family members and has not yet released the driver's identity.
Officials are investigating what led to this accident.
