Person seriously hurt in east Charlotte shooting

It happened on Friday morning on Bradstreet Commons Way.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A person went to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot in east Charlotte.

It happened early Friday morning on the 900 block of Bradstreet Commons Way.

WCNC Charlotte's crew on the scene saw multiple police cars responding when they arrived.

Officers on the scene told WCNC Charlotte they picked up about 12 shell casings there.

A police report later released said authorities responded to the area after getting a call about an assault with a deadly weapon with injury. Police claim the victim's home was shot into multiple times by an unknown person, seriously injuring a 69-year-old woman inside the home.

At the time of the shooting, a 15-year-old boy, a 53-year-old man and an 84-year-old man were inside the home. Those three people were not injured during the incident, according to police.

Authorities say the victim's Kia Soul was damaged during the shooting, too.
