CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Duke Energy said workers will begin the process of taking down the Quadrille sculpture, a long-standing piece of art in Uptown Charlotte.
A spokesperson for Duke Energy said the decommissioning process will begin around 8 a.m. on Saturday.
The 80-foot square, multi-layered holographic and computer-controlled neon sculpture has been displayed on the south-facing side of the former Duke Energy building for 27 years.
No word on what will happen to the sculpture once it is decommissioned.
