Rock Hill motorcycle crash kills 1

The Rock Hill Police Department is investigating.

ROCK HILL, S.C. — The Rock Hill Police Department said it responded to a deadly traffic accident on Oct. 24 at the intersection of Celanese Road and Mount Gallant Road.

The crash happened around 6:31 on Tuesday night. It involved a motorcycle and a truck, according to the police department. 

Rock Hill officers said they arrived to find a 49-year-old female motorcyclist on the ground with serious injuries.

EMS brought the woman to Piedmont Medical Center where she would later succumb to her injuries.

The Rock Hill Police Department Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team and Forensic Services Unit also responded to the crash.

They said preliminary details show a 2013 Toyota Tundra was traveling south on Celanese Road when it attempted to make a left turn onto Mount Gallant Road.

"As the truck made the turn, it collided with the 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was traveling north on Celanese Road," Rock Hill police said in a statement.

The crash remains under investigation.
