Incident on Christopher Circle in Rock Hill resolved

Investigators had asked the public to avoid the area because of what they were calling a "critical incident."

ROCK HILL, S.C. — A "critical incident" on Christopher Circle in Rock Hill has been resolved, according to the Rock Hill Police Department.

A woman is accused of firing a gunshot at a man, according to police. The woman went back into the home and stayed there for some time before the police department's crisis negotiators were able to convince her to surrender.

It was not immediately clear if there were any injuries or whether the woman could be facing any criminal charges.

The Rock Hill Police Department had asked the public to avoid the area.  Rock Hill police posted on X, the website formerly known as Twitter, that officers were dealing with "an incident."

The investigation is happening near the intersection with Tremont Avenue, about a block from Spencer Park.

Detectives are continuing to investigate.
