CHARLOTTE - May 25 is National Missing Children’s Day, and a new campaign is all about drawing attention to the thousands of missing children across the country.
During the month of May, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s is looking to bring awareness to the problem with their new #RockOneSock campaign.
The campaign encourages people wear one sock and take a “footsie” (a picture of your feet with one sock) photo to post to social media using the hashtag #RockOneSock. Then, challenge two friends to do the same or donate to continue to spread awareness about finding missing children.
The concept stems for the idea that when a sock is lost in the laundry, the hope is that it will be found. The campaign hopes to usher in that same sense of hope in finding missing children.
The goal? Make a viral phenomenon that brings hope and inspiration to National Missing Children’s Day.
Thousands have already participated in the campaign.
If you feel like supporting the cause, but aren’t sure how to promote it on social media, here’s a list of creative ideas you can use to get the word out on a variety of platforms: http://bit.ly/246dLvb
