CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. -- A dog that mauled a baby in Caldwell County has been euthanized.
Caldwell County Animal Control says they put down the Rottweiler Tuesday afternoon.
The sheriff s office says the dog attacked Nyhiem Wilfong while he played with his cousin in grandfather s backyard in the Kings Creek area. Nyhiem did not survive.
The Rottweiler belonged to the child s grandfather. Animal Control says he signed off on putting down the dog.
