Charlotte man dies after crashing into emergency vehicles in Rowan County, troopers say

The crash happened early Friday on I-85 South near Webb Road.

SALISBURY, N.C. — A Charlotte man is dead after crashing into emergency vehicles in Salisbury early Friday morning.

The crash happened shortly before 5 a.m. on I-85 S near Webb Road in Salisbury.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the driver attempted to drive around the scene of an accident while emergency crews were on the scene. The driver sideswiped a firetruck and then hit another firetruck in the rear while trying to get around the accident.

Officials are reminding drivers to slow down, move over and watch for any people or first responders in the road when there is a crash.
