Person killed, another seriously hurt in Salisbury shooting

One person is dead and another person has life-threatening injuries after a shooting outside a Salisbury night club.

SALISBURY, N.C. — One person is dead and another person has life-threatening injuries after a shooting outside a Salisbury night club, according to the Salisbury Police Department   

The shooting happened around 3 a.m. in a parking lot near East Innes Street on Sunday. 

Officers found two people who had been shot, including 47-year-old Donald James Krajnyak. Krajnyak died at the scene, a police spokesperson said. 

"The Salisbury Police Department would like to extend our prayers to the victim’s family," the spokesperson said. 

The other person who had been shot went to the hospital and remains in critical condition. 

Police officers quickly found and arrested a suspect identified as 23-year-old Alexus Burshell Bost at a home on New Jersey Dr.

Bost was charged with first degree murder and attempted first degree murder. She was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under no bond. 

The police department is actively investigating the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Casper at (704) 638-5333.
