HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Ring video captured the moments a stranger waited outside a west Charlotte home and aggressively tried to make his way to the other side of the door last week. A Huntersville resident believes the same suspect attempted to break into his home.
"It's definitely the same guy that was here," Marvin Henry said. "I recognized the guy [in the WCNC Charlotte story]. It was the same guy on September 21st."
Henry said he went out to water his grass around 5 a.m. and noticed a truck parked on the side of his home. He said after going back inside he then saw a man standing in his backyard through his window.
"The guy that was in your video, I saw him standing in the backyard," Henry said. "If I had not come out to water that grass things would have been different."
The Huntersville Police Department could not confirm whether or not they believe the same suspect is responsible for the two robbery attempts.
Henry is still encouraging his community to be on the lookout.
"It's so important to share because of safety reasons," Henry said. "It will definitely get worse if he is not taken off the streets, someone will hurt him or he is going to definitely hurt someone else."
Henry said until those responsible for the incidents are found, he will be keeping his guard up.
He has already activated cameras and added additional lighting.
CMPD is still investigating and no arrest has been made.
