No one injured after 2-story fire overtakes south Charlotte apartment

Fire officials said more than 50 firefighters controlled the apartment fire in 40 minutes.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — No one was injured following a two-story apartment building fire in south Charlotte, the Charlotte Fire Department reports. 

Fire officials said more than 50 firefighters controlled the apartment fire in 40 minutes. 

The fire department said all occupants had self-evacuated prior to their arrival. 

According to officials, the fire was the result of improper disposal of smoking materials. Fire officials said there were 10 displaced occupants.
