CHARLOTTE, N.C. — 23 firefighters controlled a restaurant fire in 25 minutes in South End, according to the Charlotte Fire Department. There were no reported injuries.

Charlotte Fire responded to Rooster's Wood-fired Kitchen on Morrison Boulevard Saturday afternoon.

Everyone was evacuated, and nobody was injured, officials say. Investigators are working to determine the source, and say moderate smoke was isolated in the kitchen.

It was mainly grill and kitchen damage, according to Charlotte Fire officials. Charlotte Fire investigated first, then the food inspector.

Investigators determined the fire started in the kitchen hood system. Officials say the estimated losses were $25,000.

Officials believed the restaurant would be able to reopen by Saturday evening.
