CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a death that was reported sometime early Friday evening.
Police confirmed on X the investigation was focused along South Boulevard, not far from the intersection with Scaleybark Road. Initial details were not shared beyond the post, including if the death seemed suspicious or was otherwise tied to a crime.
The department's post was shared around 5:45 p.m. A WCNC Charlotte viewer said he saw police tape and several cruisers at the scene.
CMPD has promised to release more details as information is made available.
