Firefighters hurt while responding Steele Creek fire

​The firefighter taken to a hospital has non-life-threatening injuries, according to Medic.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One firefighter was taken to a hospital and another was treated at the scene after crews responded to a house fire in Steele Creek early Friday morning. 

It happened in the area of Buckie Court, not far from the Piedmont Prairie Trail at the McDowell Nature Preserve.

The firefighter taken to a hospital has non-life-threatening injuries, according to Medic.

The Charlotte Fire Department said its crews were assisting Mecklenburg County units with the fire, which is now under control. The Steele Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the Mecklenburg County Fire Marshall's Office are now investigating.
