CHESTER, S.C. — The Chester County Sheriff's Office said two people were hurt in a stabbing at a Waffle House in Chester on Friday night.
The department said its deputies responded to a call at the Waffle House, which is located on the JA Cochran Bypass, around 10:34 p.m. There, deputies found two people suffering from stab wounds.
One person was in critical condition after being transported to an Atrium hospital on Friday night.
The other person involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the department said.
Deputies arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection to the stabbing. He is now charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. His identity is unable to be released due to South Carolina state law.
The sheriff's office said information revealed to them thus far has led them to ask the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) to take the lead. This is done to maintain investigative objectivity and ensure conflicts of interest are removed.
