Teen killed in Salisbury shooting

Police do not know who shot the 14-year-old boy, according to the department.

SALISBURY, N.C. — A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed in Salisbury on Friday night, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

Officers found the teenager on the 300 Block of North Fulton Street, where he had been shot. He was quickly taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but died once he arrived at the hospital.

He was walking in the 500 Block of North Ellis Street when he was shot by "unknown individual(s)," the police department said. He was able to walk to North Fulton Street before collapsing. 

No suspects have been arrested and the police department is actively investigating the shooting. 

 "The Salisbury Police Department would like to extend our prayers to the victim’s family," a spokesperson said in a statement on Saturday.
